Kim Young Dae is reportedly in discussions to star alongside beloved actress Kim Yoo Jung in the highly anticipated upcoming drama Dear X. If confirmed, this dream pairing would bring together two of K-drama’s most popular and talented young stars.
On June 5, his agency Outer Universe informed a Korean media outlet that Dear X is one of the proposed projects being considered. They shared that the actor is reviewing the offer and the final decision is expected soon.
Based on a webtoon of the same name, Dear X depicts the downfall of the leading domestic actress Baek Ah Jin (played by Kim Yoo Jung), unveiling the two hidden sides of her character.
Kim Young Dae will play the male protagonist in the drama, Yoon Jun Seo in the drama.
In 2020, author Ban Ji Eun announced on her blog that she had finalized the drama adaptation rights for Dear X. The original webtoon was serialized on Naver Webtoon from 2019 to 2020.
Dear X will be directed by Lee Eung Bok, known for directing Dream High, Descendants of the Sun, and Goblin, while the script will be handled by writer Choi Ja Won.
Previously, there were reports that actress Kim Yoo Jung was approached for the role of Baek Ah Jin and is currently under consideration.
As soon as the casting for the supporting and lead cast is finalized, the filming for the drama will begin.
