Netflix’s hit animated film KPop Demon Hunters is heading back to the big screen. The special sing-along event turns movie night into a full-on concert experience. Following its record-breaking run earlier this year, the global sensation is set to return to theaters just in time for Halloween.
KPop Demon Hunters to Hit Theaters This Halloween
The KPop Demon Hunters: Sing-Along Edition will screen from October 31 to November 2, 2025, in major theater chains in the U.S., including AMC, Regal, and Cinemark. It will also hit select theaters in the UK, Ireland, South Korea, Australia, and Brazil. Fans are encouraged to come dressed as their favorite characters and join in on the fun — light sticks, costumes, and all.
This new Halloween run follows a previous sing-along release back in August, which turned out to be a massive success. That two-day event grossed between $18 and $19.2 million, hitting #1 at the U.S. box office, and made history as Netflix’s first-ever film to top theatrical charts.
A Special Theatrical Experience in Korea
In South Korea, theater chain CGV has announced that it will exclusively screen the sing-along edition in about 100 theaters nationwide, including at CGV Yongsan I’Park Mall. These screenings will feature large-format visuals, surround sound, and interactive audience participation. This will allow fans to sing, cheer, and wave light sticks just like at a real K-pop concert.
CGV is also hosting a number of fan events to make the experience even more special.
- Attendees will receive a limited-edition A3 poster (first come, first served).
- A photo zone inspired by the movie’s characters will be set up at select locations.
- For the ultra-fans, there’s even a “Fandom Battle Screening,” where supporters of in-universe groups like HUNTR/X and SAJA Boys can cheer for their teams.
Jeon Jung Hyun, CGV’s Content Operations Team Leader, said:
“We’re thrilled to present the globally popular content ‘K-Pop Demon Hunters’ in theaters with a special sing-along screening. We hope you enjoy singing along, having fun, and experiencing the vibrant energy that can only be felt in a theater.”
What’s Next For KPop Demon Hunters
Since premiering on June 20, 2025, KPop Demon Hunters has become Netflix’s most-watched film ever, surpassing the multi-starrer Red Notice.
Its soundtrack is going platinum and breaking records as the first film soundtrack to land four songs in the Billboard Hot 100’s top 10 simultaneously. The lead single, “Golden,” even climbed to #1 and has retained its spot for weeks.
With its overwhelming success, it’s no surprise that a sequel is already in early development. According to reports, Netflix is in the early stages of planning the follow-up. The creators have hinted that they want to explore deeper character backstories and expand the mythology that couldn’t fully fit into the first movie. While no release date has been announced yet, fans can expect the story of Rumi, Mira, and Joy to continue.
