Netflix has unleashed the long-awaited trailer for KPop Demon Hunters, an animated musical fantasy that pits K-pop idols against supernatural rivals. Originally developed at Sony Pictures Animation in 2021, this four-year passion project finally hits screens this June with an A-list voice cast and original songs by TWICE members and rising artists.
Plot: Glamour Meets the Supernatural
The film follows K-pop trio Rumi, Mira, and Zoey – global superstars by day, demon hunters by night. Their latest challenge? An irresistible rival boy band that’s actually a squad of soul-stealing demons in disguise. The trailer’s standout line – “You think we’re just gonna let you steal our fans? You’re gonna have to fight us for that!” – sets up a high-stakes battle.
Rumi is the strong, older member with incredible vocals, but she is hiding a dark secret and struggling to balance her vulnerability with strength. Mira is the tough, tomboy type who’s fiercely strong with a supernatural polearm, but beneath her tough exterior, she is sensitive and vulnerable. Zoey is the bubbly, energetic rapper who brings a ton of enthusiasm and energy to the group, but her high energy can be exhausting.
