With Chuseok 2025 just around the corner, Korea is gearing up for a rare seven-day holiday stretch — running from October 3 to 9, thanks to the overlap with National Foundation Day and Hangeul Day.
While most people are preparing to relax with family, K-pop idols under the “Big 4” agencies — HYBE, SM, JYP, and YG Entertainment — have their own exciting plans. Some will continue comeback prep and overseas tours, whereas others will rest.
HYBE
HYBE artists seem determined to spend this Chuseok with a mix of hard work and brief downtime. BOYNEXTDOOR will focus entirely on preparing for their 5th mini-album, “The Action,” set to release on October 20.
The members shared, “As our new album captures our passion to grow into a ‘better version of ourselves,’ we’re working hard to show a more mature side of us through this promotion. We hope you enjoy a happy holiday with your loved ones, and please look forward to our new release coming right after the break.”
Meanwhile, TWS will be flying out for Paris Fashion Week to attend the Celine SS26 Show as ambassadors on October 5. They are also gearing up for the release of their 4th mini-album “Play Hard” on October 13. “We’re preparing diligently so that our fans, 42, can start their Monday with our new song—so please look forward to it!,” the group said.
Rookie group ILLIT will spend their holiday practicing for their November comeback. “During the Chuseok holiday, we will all practice together and build happy memories. We also plan to have time to share affection and warm wishes with our families,” the members shared.
Other HYBE artists plan to use the long break for rest and creative work on upcoming projects.
SM Entertainment
For SM Entertainment, Chuseok looks anything but quiet. The label manages top K-pop acts like Red Velvet, aespa, EXO, RIIZE, NCT, and more.
Red Velvet’s Joy will kick things off with her fan meeting “Unmelting Our Green” on October 3 at Yes24 Live Hall in Seoul. aespa will continue their “2025 aespa LIVE TOUR – SYNK: aeXIS LINE” with concerts in Fukuoka, Japan, on October 4 and 5, while Super Junior celebrates their 20th anniversary with “SUPER SHOW 10” in Manila.
SHINee’s Key will bring his solo concert “2025 KEYLAND: Uncanny Valley” to Taipei, and EXO’s Chanyeol will perform in Fukuoka on October 8 as part of his Japan tour “The Days–.”
NCT’s Doyoung will wrap up the holiday period with his encore concert “Yours” at Inspire Arena in Incheon from October 9 to 11. On the other hand, SM’s rookie girl group Hearts2Hearts will be practicing for their debut mini-album “FOCUS,” dropping on October 20.
JYP Entertainment
Over at JYP Entertainment, the energy is just as high.
TWICE will be performing in the Philippines on October 4 and in Singapore the following weekend as part of their “THIS IS FOR” world tour. The group is also busy making 10th-anniversary content for ONCE and preparing for the release of a special album, Ten: The Story Goes On.
Stray Kids are preparing for their encore world tour “dominATE: celebrATE” in Incheon on October 18–19. ITZY will also spend the holidays working and getting ready for their 4th fan meeting “ITZY MIDZY, NALJA! ON AIR” in Tokyo on October 11–12.
Another JYP Entertainment group, NMIXX, will release their first full album, “Blue Valentine,” a few days after Chuseok on October 13. Xdinary Heroes will also continue comeback prep as they are set to drop their new mini-album “LXVE to DEATH” on the 24th.
NiziU and NEXZ will also have busy months ahead, with Japanese tour schedules and comeback preparations for November releases. On the other hand, DAY6 finally gets a chance to take a much-deserved rest.
YG Entertainment
YG Entertainment artists are using the long break to fine-tune their comeback stages and concerts.
TREASURE will hold a three-day concert “PULSE ON” at KSPO DOME in Seoul from October 10 to 12. They will keep rehearsing throughout the holiday to deliver their best performance. BABYMONSTER is also gearing up for their second mini-album, “WE GO UP” dropping on October 10. So, they will also practice and shoot promotional content instead of resting and spending time with their loved ones.
Other YG artists will be focusing on final rehearsals, comeback prep, and quality downtime with family before their busy post-holiday schedules kick in.
While many Koreans will spend the Chuseok holiday visiting family or traveling, idols from HYBE, SM, JYP, and YG are balancing both work and rest in their own ways.
