Lee Jong Suk and Mun Ka Young will be meeting fans in Malaysia for a special screening of the final episode of their hit tvN drama Law and The City (also known as Seocho-dong).
As announced by drama officials on Thursday, the fan event will be held on August 10, coinciding with the drama’s finale broadcast.
Malaysia has emerged as a major hub for K-drama viewership in Asia, which explains the decision to host this overseas event. Over 1,000 Malaysian fans are expected to attend the event, which will also include a press conference with both lead actors.
While domestic final-episode screenings in Korea have become more common, overseas fan events like this remain rare. The decision to hold a fan event in Malaysia shows the global popularity of both the drama and its lead actor Lee Jong Suk, often referred to as a top “Hallyu star.”
It was among the most anticipated dramas of 2025 as it marked Lee’s first return to television since Big Mouth aired in 2022. Luckily, fans won’t have to wait another three years for his next project as he returns next year with Disney+’s The Remarried Empress.
The female lead, Mun Ka Young, appeared in a webtoon-based drama, My Dearest Nemesis, in February. Once Law and The City wraps, Mun is set to make a special appearance in Netflix’s upcoming superhero series Cashero.
Coming back to the subject, Law and The City follows the daily lives of five junior lawyers working at a prestigious law firm in Seoul’s legal district. The drama portrays their professional pressure, chase career goals, and personal relationships in the competitive Seocho-dong legal district.
It premiered on July 5, 2025, on tvN and streams internationally via platforms like Viki and Disney+ at 9:20 PM KST every Saturday and Sunday.
The series premiered with a nationwide viewership rating of 4.6%, based on Nielsen Korea. By its sixth episode, it had reached a personal best of 6.1%. With six episodes remaining, industry watchers expect ratings to climb even further as the story heads toward its conclusion.
The finale is scheduled to air on August 10, and fans in Malaysia will be among the first to experience it on the big screen alongside the lead cast.
