However, the criticism did not stop there, the members were targeted by other fandoms in the wake of the HYBE-ADOR conflict. Therefore, the agency vowed to protect the rights and interests of the artists.

On June 7, SOURCE MUSIC gave a long-awaited update on the ongoing legal proceedings in a lengthy statement.

In the recent update, the agency shared plans to “intensify legal actions” indiscriminately against malicious postings targeting LE SSERAFIM.

They apologized for the delay in updating fans about the ongoing legal action, “We moved up our 2024 semi-annual notice to keep our fans informed about the legal proceedings and subsequent actions.” The label shared the reason behind delay in sharing the status of legal proceedings due to the “preparation of numerous legal complaints and the collection of evidence.”

They shared that the agency is taking a strong stance against malicious online activities targeting our artist. They have conducted a thorough investigation, gathering evidence from various sources, including social media, online communities, fan reports, and professional legal assistance. This evidence includes a wide range of harmful content, such as contemptuous posts, defamatory comments, and sexually explicit material.

Formals complaints with the authorities, citing violations of the Information and Communications Network Act and the Act on Special Cases concerning the Punishment of Sexual Crimes. This legal action aims to address all forms of malicious behavior, including false information, personal attacks, derogatory remarks, mockery, and vulgar comments.

SOURCE MUSIC is taking legal action against harmful content on various online platforms, including Naver, Nate Pann, theqoo, Dcinside, instiz, ilbe, and social media sites. This action also extends to malicious posts and comments on international platforms, with the agency filing a formal complaint with investigative authorities against both the content creators and platform managers.

They shared that many offenders have been penalized, “An extensive investigation was conducted into those who authored malicious posts and comments on online communities,” and added, “The investigation concluded with guilty verdicts, and offenders were punished under criminal law, facing fines up to two million KRW.”

The agency shared that they did not update the fans sooner as it takes several months, sometimes a year, for a complaint to be processed.

The agency asked fans to report cases of violation to SOURCE MUSIC’s legal hotline at [email protected].

On the work front, LE SSERAFIM made a comeback with EASY and is currently preparing for a new album
