Lee Chae Min has been tapped to replace Park Sung Hoon in the time-travel drama “The Tyrant’s Chef”, opposite Girls’ Generation’s YoonA.

According to an exclusive report by Sports Chosun on January 13, Lee Chae Min has received an offer to star in the upcoming tvN drama “The Tyrant’s Chef” and is positively considering the role.

If he accepts the offer, he will replace Park Sung Hoon as the male lead who stepped down after receiving backlash for sharing an explicit post on Instagram.

Park Sung Hoon has parted ways with the upcoming drama “The Tyrant’s Chef” following a scandal surrounding a pornographic post on his personal social media account. On January 11, the production company Studio Dragon announced after discussions with Park and his agency, they had mutually decided to go their separate ways.

Both the “Queen of Tears” actor and his agency had previously apologized for the incident.

With script readings, test filming, and initial shooting already completed, the production team is racing against time to find Park Sung Hoon’s replacement.

Since the drama is scheduled to air on tvN in the second half of the year, negotiations with Lee are expected to wrap quickly to begin filming.

“The Tyrant’s Chef” is an epic tale that spans 500 years, following a French chef who time-travels to meet a ruthless yet culinary-obsessed king. “My Love from the Star” director Jang Tae Yoo is at the helm.

Lee Chae Min rose to fame with his roles in “Crash Course in Romance” and “Hierarchy”. He is set to reunite with her “Hierarchy” co-star Roh Jeong Eui in the MBC drama “Crushology 101”, premiering on April 11.

Now that Lee Chae Min is in talks to join, the spotlight shifts to his potential on-screen chemistry with co-star YoonA.
