Lee Dong Wook is in talks about taking on the lead role in the new drama Divorce Insurance.
On June 4, A broadcasting official revealed that the 42-year-old actor is offered the lead role in the upcoming drama Divorce Insurance. He is currently ironing out the details, and an official confirmation of his participation is expected shortly.
Once finalized, he will begin preparations for the production, which is set to start filming in the near future.
The drama narrates the journey of an insurance company’s team working on a product linked to divorce. It explores themes of love, marriage, and divorce by delving into the process of determining insurance rates.
Director Lee Won Suk, known for the hit comedy film Killing Romance from last year, will be at the helm, while writer Lee Tae Yoon, the creative mind behind tvN’s romantic comedy historical series Earth and Joy, will pen the script for the drama.
In the drama, Lee Dong Wook portrays Noh Ki Joon, a team member in charge of product development. Despite his polished looks and prestigious background as a top-notch insurance actuary from a renowned international university, Noh Ki Joon has been divorced three times.
His deep understanding of marital challenges makes him a key figure in shaping divorce-related insurance.
At the moment, the production team of the drama is gearing up to finalize the cast for both lead and supporting roles and kick off production in full swing. The renowned drama production company MongJakSo will oversee the project, with plans for it to air on tvN in the first half of the upcoming year.
