Lee Hyeri Set to Play High School Student in New Teen Mystery Thriller Drama

Lee Hyeri

Lee Hyeri, a Girls’ Day member and actress, is set to return to the small screen as a top student in a teen mystery drama, Friendly Rivalry (literal title).

In the thrilling teen mystery series Friendly Rivalry, based on the acclaimed webtoon by Song Chae Yoon and Shim Jae Young, the stakes are higher than just academic achievement.

Woo Seulgi, a rebellious outcast from a local orphanage, shakes things up at Chaehwa Girls’ High School, a prestigious institution reserved for Korea’s top 1% of students.

Yoo Jae Yi, portrayed by Lee Hyeri in the drama, is the ultimate influencer at Chaehwa Girls’ High School. She’s a brilliant student, ranking in the top 0.1% at a school where only the top 1% get in.

With her natural appearance, high intelligence, and seemingly perfect family background, she’s a complex character with a knack for manipulation.

Yoo Jae Yi, born with a silver spoon, is well aware of her superior status and knows how to use it to her advantage. She takes a keen interest in the new transfer student, Woo Seulgi, and their relationship becomes a complex mix of friendship and obsession.

As they grow closer, it’s unclear whether Yoo Jae Yi’s intentions are genuine or manipulative. The upcoming drama Friendly Rivalry is slated for release in 2025.

Lee Hyeri is known for her roles in hit dramas including My Roommate Is A Gumiho, Reply 1988, Moonshine, Record of Youth, and more.

On another note, Hyeri is set to appear in the new movie, Victory, on August 14.
