Lee Jong Suk might be stepping into a lead role in a new fantasy drama alongside Shin Min Ah, and fans couldn’t be more excited.
The 35-year-old Kdrama heartthrob is considering his second project after finalizing the legal drama “Seochodong.”
On December 10, a representative from his agency, Ace Factory informed OSEN that ‘The Remarried Empress’ is one of the projects that Lee Jong Suk has been offered, but his appearance has not been confirmed yet.
“The Remarried Empress” is a drama adaptation of a hit web novel, revolving around Navier (played by Shin Min Ah), the ex-empress of the Eastern Empire. After divorcing her husband Sobieshu, who attempted to replace her with his mistress Rasta, Navier remarries King Heinrey of the Western Kingdom.
Notably, Lee Jong Suk is in talks to play the lead role of King Heinrey of the Western Kingdom in “The Remarried Empress”.
All eyes are on how the romance fantasy genre will be reimagined in a modern drama.
If the “Big Mouth” actor accepts the offer, he will reunite with the “Pinocchio” director after a decade. Director Jo Soo Won, known for directing “Still 17”, “Today’s Webtoon”, “My Happy Ending”, and more, will helm the new drama.
Shin Min Ah, who is in talks to play the female lead, has established herself as a talented actress with roles in “Our Blues”, “No Gain No Love”, “Tomorrow With You”, and more.
On the other hand, Lee Jong Suk has worked in many hit dramas such as “Romance is a Bonus Book”, “While You Were Sleeping”, “School 2013”, and more.
Further details, including broadcast plans and the full cast lineup for “The Remarried Empress”, will be announced at a later date.
