Lee Min Ho, the charming star of many romantic comedies, is now looking ahead as he nears his 40s. He has been reflecting on his career and is excited to embark on a new chapter as an actor.
Dubbed ‘romantic comedy king’, he hinted at challenging himself with more complex characters.
On August 23rd, Lee Min Ho and Kim Min Ha, stars of Apple TV+’s Pachinko Season 2, attended the press conference in Seoul.
At the press briefing, The Heirs actor shared that Pachinko has given him the confidence to try out diverse roles and genres.
Looking back at his almost 2-decade-long career, he shared, “Before my career as an actor, when I was 34 years old, which was the 12th year since my debut, I felt the need for a new image for myself.”
Lee Minho got candid about how working on Pachinko has changed his perspective, saying, “I had a growing desire to not be confined and to be free. Then, I met ‘Pachinko’ and had an experience of freedom with great people. As I acted in a state of not being confined and feeling comfortable, I grew a lot as a human being, Lee Min Ho, not just as an actor. I have been feeling very good lately. My satisfaction level with the balance between my personal life and work is high.’”
Regarding the term ‘Rom-Com King’ that was mentioned during the interview, he shared “If I was someone who had that side highlighted in my 20s, then I have a lot to bring out in the future. Perhaps my 40s as an actor could be brilliant.”
On another note, the second season of Pachinko starring Lee Min Ho and Kim Min Ha premiered on August 23 with Episode 1, followed by a weekly release of 8 episodes every Friday.
