On August 17, 2023, actor Lee Sang Yeob surprised fans during an appearance on KBS2’s Problem Child in the House when he revealed that he is close friends with BTS’s Jin. He joined the program alongside his My Lovely Boxer co-star Kim So Hye, where the unexpected revelation quickly caught the attention of viewers.
Lee explained that the friendship began when they met through mutual friends. “We both like wine and traditional liquor, so we sat down a lot and talked a lot,” he shared. Their connection has since grown stronger, and Lee Sang Yeon affectionately calls Jin “Chairman,” while Jin refers to him as “hyung,” a respectful term for older brother.
The K-drama actor also made the effort to meet Jin during his military service. When asked about the singer’s well-being, he reassured viewers, saying, “He’s doing well.”
Jin is serving his mandatory duty after enlisting in December 2022, and his discharge is expected in June 2024, the first BTS member to enlist. Despite his absence from group activities, he continued to receive love and support worldwide, and stories like this gave fans comfort while waiting for his return.
