After two seasons of keeping viewers on the edge of their seats, the creators of “Squid Game” have pulled off the ultimate casting coup. Hollywood superstar Leonardo DiCaprio is set to make a surprise cameo appearance in Season 3.
The “Titanic” actor is a fan of the show, therefore, his appearance is generating a lot of buzz.
OSEN exclusively reported on January 1 that Leonardo DiCaprio will make a surprise appearance in Netflix’s “Squid Game” Season 3. It is worth noting here that the production team or actor himself has not confirmed his appearance.
According to OSEN, filming has already been completed, with the season set to premiere this summer. Details about his character and screen time are being kept under wraps to avoid spoilers. However, it is reported that his appearance will be brief.
During a press conference in Seoul in September 2022, Director Hwang Dong Hyuk hinted at the possibility of a Hollywood star joining the cast. When asked if a famous actor might appear in Season 3, Hwang revealed that Leonardo DiCaprio is a fan of “Squid Game,” and the team had informally discussed asking him for a cameo.
Lee Jung Jae met Leonardo DiCaprio at the 2021 LACMA Art + Film Gala and took a photo together. Later, at the 2022 SAG Awards, Lee shared he wanted to see DiCaprio in Season 2 during a red carpet interview.
On another note, Season 2 of “Squid Game” promises an intense showdown between Ki Hoon (Lee Jung Jae), who seeks revenge, and Frontman (Lee Byung Hun). Fans can expect Season 3 to premiere in the latter half of this year.
