BLACKPINK’s Lisa is stepping further into the acting world with her first-ever film role. On October 15, IZE reported that the singer and global star will appear in Netflix’s upcoming action blockbuster Extraction: Tigo. The film stars Ma Dong Seok and Lee Jin Wook and serves as a spinoff of the hit Extraction franchise led by Chris Hemsworth and produced by the Russo Brothers.
The Extraction series, first released in 2020 with a sequel in 2023, became one of Netflix’s most successful action titles. Extraction: Tigo will exist independently from the main storyline and is not connected to the upcoming Extraction 3. Instead, it expands the same cinematic universe through a fresh plot, new characters, and a new lead.
Lisa Eyes Her Second Acting Project
If confirmed, this is going to be Lisa’s second acting project and her first full-length film. Earlier this year, she made her acting debut in The White Lotus Season 3 on HBO with her brief but impactful appearance.
A few weeks ago, the BLACKPINK dancer and rapper announced signing an exclusive contract with major U.S. agency WME (William Morris Endeavor). This shows that she is serious about building her acting career alongside her ongoing work in music and fashion.

In Extraction: Tigo, Ma Dong Seok (also known internationally as Don Lee) stars as Tigo, a mercenary on a dangerous mission to rescue a kidnapped teammate. He has already shown his strength and intensity in films like The Roundup and Train to Busan. Ma also helped develop the original story and co-produced the film through his company, Big Punch Pictures.
Actor Lee Jin Wook, best known for Sweet Home and Squid Game, joins the cast as well. His character will go head-to-head with Ma Dong Seok.
Extraction: Tigo is designed to stand on its own while still staying true to the tone of the Extraction world. Rather than following Chris Hemsworth’s Tyler Rake, the movie introduces new characters and locations.
Behind the camera, director Lee Sang Yong, the filmmaker behind The Outlaws 2 and The Outlaws 3, will helm the project. The screenplay was written by actor and screenwriter Cha Woo Jin, who also worked on The Roundup: No Way Out. With this creative team, Extraction: Tigo is becoming one of the most ambitious Korean-led international productions on Netflix.
