MADEIN’s agency has issued a public apology for relying too heavily on artificial intelligence (AI) in the group’s latest music video, UNO.
On September 4, the CEO of 143 Entertainment took to Instagram to apologize to fans, saying, “My bad, it’s all my fault, apology to the fans and members.”
He further added, “I will make sure the new edit will release in a few days without any VFX.”
Moreover, the agency’s CEO promised to release UNO and DADARIDA performance versions.
MADEIN made their highly-anticipated debut on September 3, 2024, with the release of their EP Rise. The 7-member group consists of Mashiro and Yeseo from Kep1er, MiU, Suhye, and Gaeun from LIMELIGHT, alongside new members Serina and Nagomi.
The music video of their title track was scheduled to be released on September 3 at 6 PM, however, it was postponed to 8 PM. When the music video was released, it received massive backlash for using excessive AI.
The excitement surrounding MADEIN’s debut was short-lived. Fans were disappointed to see the UNO music video, which relied heavily on AI-generated imagery instead of real footage.
143 Entertainment was severely criticized for using AI and sparking controversy with their debut release.
