It has been two years since MAMAMOO’s last group comeback, leaving fans wondering when they will reunite.

However, the group’s members have been anything but idle. Solar, Moonbyul, Wheein, and Hwasa have each embarked on successful solo journeys under different agencies.

Some MAMAMOO members stayed with RBW, while others signed with other agencies and explored new opportunities.

MAMAMOO Group Activities

Fans are saddened by MAMAMOO’s decreased music and broadcast activities, as the group’s infectious energy and entertainment skills are greatly missed.

Hailed as one of the most talented K-pop groups of all time, fans believe their reduced group activities have limited their opportunities to showcase their exceptional skills.

MAMAMOO celebrates 10 years since debut, but the group’s future is uncertain as members switch agencies. Their last music release was ‘ILLELA’ from EP ‘MIC ON’ (Oct 2022) and the final group activity was their world tour (Jun 2023).

While all members are focusing on solo careers and still releasing new music independently, fans are craving group activities more.

What MAMAMOO Members Have Been Up To?

As stated earlier, MAMAMOO members are actively releasing solo music despite changing agencies and going their separate ways.

Solar

Solar, MAMAMOO leader and part of its sub-unit MAMAMOO+ with Moonbyul, renewed a contract with her longtime agency RBW. The 33-year-old K-pop singer debuted as a soloist with a single album, Spit it Out, in 2020.

Following her contract renewal with RBW, Solar expanded her solo discography with mini-albums ‘容 : FACE’ and ‘COLOURS’. Meanwhile, she and Moonbyul have been actively promoting as MAMAMOO’s dynamic duo since forming the sub-unit in August 2022, releasing three collaborative albums.

In addition, she participated as a judge on several musical reality shows and hosted multiple entertainment programs.

Moonbyul

Like Solar, Moonbyul also stayed with RBW. She made her solo debut with the single Selfish (ft. Seulgi of Red Velvet) in 2018.

MAMAMOO’s Moonbyul has been on a roll since June 2021, releasing five solo albums and consistently achieving career highs. Her third mini-album ‘6equence’ (2022) sold over 70,000 copies in its first week. She then shattered this record with her full-length album ‘Starlit of Muse’, selling over 100,000 copies in its first week in February.

The 31-year-old singer has stayed in touch with fans through broadcasting activities and actively participating in a variety and entertainment shows.

Wheein

Wheein left RBW during the first contract renewal in 2021 and signed with THE L1VE Label. In the latest development, the 29-year-old singer parted ways with THE L1VE on August 3.

Under THE L1VE, she released her second EP WHEE, and the special single D-Day in 2022. Next year, Wheein dropped her first studio album In The Mood. In 2024, she kicked off her world tour ‘Whee In The Mood [Beyond], with the first show on February 24.

Hwasa

Last but not least, Hwasa opted out of renewing her contract with RBW for a second time in June 2023 and subsequently joined P NATION.

After joining new agencies, Hwasa and Wheein focused on individual music endeavors. Hwasa, specifically, achieved significant success post-P NATION transfer, with the single “I Love My Body.” She recently released her 2nd mini-album “O” on September 19.

Lastly, while all members are thriving in their solo careers, fans are eagerly anticipating MAMAMOO’s activities and comeback.
