MAMAMOO’s Jung Wheein parted ways with her agency, THE L1VE.
On August 3, THE L1VE officially announced her departure, stating, “We would like to inform you that the exclusive contract of artist Wheein from THE L1VE label has ended on August 3, 2024.
The label further shared, “We will faithfully provide support so that future schedules, including the previously announced Kaohsiung concert, can proceed without disruption.”
After parting ways with RBW in 2021 and joining THE L1VE, the 29-year-old singer released her second EP, WHEE the following year.
In October 2023, she dropped her first full-length album, IN the mood, and announced a world tour, WHEE IN THE MOOD.
While her departure from THE L1VE comes as a shock to many, fans, on the other hand, are relieved as they were not satisfied with the promotional activities of her solo endeavors.
Back in June 2021, Wheein was the only member to not renew her contract with RBW, however, continued to do group activities with them.
In an interview with Vogue, she got candid about joining the new agency, THE L1VE, saying that she wanted a fresh start, “I wanted to maybe experience the new environment under the new agency.”
Wheein further added, “That was my hope and I wanted to take a stepping stone into my personal growth in a new angle.”
Fans are now looking forward to which label she will sign with next.
