Mark has officially debuted as a solo artist with “The Firstfruit”, which he describes as an “autobiographical album”.
The NCT member released the studio album “The Firstfruit” along with the title track “1999” on all music platforms on April 7 at 6 PM. Immediately after its release, the album topped iTunes in 14 countries and entered the top 10 in 24 regions. Moreover, it broke into the top 50 in 32 countries.
“The Firstfruit” debuted at #2 on the Worldwide iTunes Album Chart and secured the #1 spot in Brazil, Indonesia, Malaysia, Norway, Russia, Thailand, Vietnam, and more.
On the other hand, the title track “1999” debuted at #25 on the Worldwide iTunes Song chart whereas the pre-release song “+82 Pressin’” currently ranks at #65.
Notably, Mark achieved the second-highest first-day sales among all NCT members who have ventured into solo careers. “The Firstfruit” recorded 274,003 copies on its first day, only surpassed by Taeyong’s debut album “Shalala” (344,119). Doyoung’s solo debut studio album “Youth” takes third place with 238,996 copies sold.
Additionally, Taeyong’s 2nd mini-album “TAP” has sold 128,674 copies, Jaehyun’s solo debut album “J” has sold 118,870 copies, and Ten’s albums “Stunner” and “Ten” have sold 88,111 and 85,928 copies, respectively.
Additionally, Mark reached number one on China’s QQ Music digital album sales chart and Japan’s AWA real-time rising chart.
Meanwhile, the debut solo album “The First Fruit” features 13 tracks, including the title song “1999” and collaborations with Lee Young Ji, Crush, Code Kunst, and Haechan. The album is notable for its autobiographical content, with Mark sharing personal stories and experiences through his lyrics. He gives fans a deep look into his life in Toronto, Vancouver, NYC, and Seoul.
