On Thursday, JYP Entertainment introduced the newest K-pop group, VCHA, created from the final America2Korea (A2K) lineup. This reality competition YouTube series, as the name suggests, began with auditions in the US and then proceeded to Korea, where the chosen participants underwent intense training at the K-pop agency.
In what was dubbed a “global girl group” by JYP Entertainment and Republic Records, aspiring teens auditioned for their chance to debut. J.Y. Park, the mastermind behind JYP Entertainment, coined the group formed through A2K as “the first American artist[s] made out of the K-pop system.”
The finale of A2K premiered on September 21 on the YouTube channel of JYP Entertainment. On the show, Park announced the lineup for the newest K-pop girl group, VCHA.
