On October 29, the Seoul Central District Court rejected former ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin’s injunction request against HYBE. This dismissal indicates the court found her application legally insufficient.

By dismissing the injunction, the court effectively sided with HYBE this time in the ongoing dispute. The decision suggests that Min failed to meet the necessary legal requirements for the court to intervene.

She was fired as CEO on August 27, and Kim Joo Young took over as the new CEO. In response, she filed a court injunction on September 13, claiming her removal was illegal and violated the shareholder agreement.

Min Hee Jin is seeking to hold an emergency shareholder meeting to reappoint a director, effectively challenging her removal as CEO. The injunction aims to reverse the decision made by the company.

This is the second time she filed for an injunction since the HYBE-ADOR feud started in April. Back in May, HYBE tried to dismiss her as CEO, however, she filed for an injunction at the time. The court ruled in her favor and prevented HYBE from exercising its voting rights, or else pay a compensation of 20 billion won.

HYBE declared the shareholder agreement with Min Hee Jin null and void, stating her removal as CEO was a board decision based on business judgment, unrelated to the agency.

ADOR countered by re-electing Min Hee Jin as an inside director at an emergency shareholders’ meeting on October 17. Moreover, her production contract, which was expiring in November, is also extended to 5 years.
