Mnet’s iconic music program M Countdown is turning 20!
Since its debut in 2004, M Countdown has been a staple of the K-pop scene, highlighting the latest and greatest in music talent.
The show will celebrate two decades of showcasing K-POP excellence with a special episode tomorrow (July 18).
The anniversary special promises to be a treat for fans, featuring exclusive collaboration performances, special VCRs, and many more exciting moments to look forward to.
Special MCs
Actor Ahn Jae Hyun will make a special appearance as a guest MC on today’s broadcast, joining forces with the show’s original MC, Yunho, who has been with ‘M Countdown’ since its debut. Together, they will co-host the show alongside regular MCs Sung Hanbin, Myung Jaehyun, and Sohee.

2024 M Countdown Mini Awards
To celebrate its 20th anniversary, ‘M Countdown’ has prepared special VCR segments, including a nostalgic look back at the show’s two-decade history and the ‘2024 M Countdown Mini Awards’.
This mini-awards ceremony will honor artists who have delivered exceptional and unpredictable performances over the past 20 years.
Nostalgic Corner & Vocal Challenge
For its 20th anniversary, the nostalgic segment ‘M Countdown’ is making a comeback. This corner revives K-pop classics and showcases music videos.
The beloved ‘Vocal Challenge’, where multiple artists cover one song, will also be featured. In this challenge, K-pop rookies will bring a fresh take to BTS’ Boy With Luv, the most-viewed song on ‘M Countdown’.
