Netflix is gearing up to captivate audiences once again with its upcoming drama, ‘East Palace’ (working title).
The new drama stars Nam Joo Hyuk, Roh Yoon Seo, Cho Seung Woo, and more.
“East Palace” tells the story of Goo Cheon (Nam Joo Hyuk), who possesses the unique ability to travel between the worlds of spirits. On the other hand, Ginger (Roh Yoon Seo) is a palace maid with her own hidden secrets. Together, they respond to the King’s call (Cho Seung-woo) to uncover the curse affecting the Crown Prince.
Nam Joo Hyuk is taking on the role of ‘Goo Cheon’, a character who has the power to defeat ghosts with a sword and goes undercover in the palace to investigate strange happenings within the royal family.
After showing off his acting skills in various shows like ‘Vigilante’, ‘Twenty-Five, Twenty-One’, ‘Start-Up’, and more’, he chose ‘East Palace’ as his first project after his military service.
Roh Yoon Seo plays ‘Ginger’, a court lady who has the special ability to hear ghosts. Although she sees this gift as a curse, she teams up with Goo Cheon to uncover the palace’s secrets. Roh became well-known for her roles in ‘Our Blues’ and ‘Crash Course in Romance’, ’20th Century Girl’ and ‘Hear Me: Our Summer’.
Cho Seung Woo plays the King, a multifaceted character, who secretly recruits Goo Cheon and Ginger to break the palace curse.
The dream team behind “East Palace” has also raised the bar. It combines the creative forces of writers Kwon So Ra and Seo Jae Won (“Bulgasal: The Immortal Souls”, “The Guest”) and director Choi Jung Kyu (“The Devil Judge”, “Soundtrack 2”).
Netflix will release “East Palace” worldwide, however, broadcast plans are yet to be announced.
