Nana, K-pop idol and actress, is reportedly in talks to join a high-profile remake of the 2003 film “Untold Scandal”, alongside A-list stars Ji Chang Wook and Son Ye Jin.
As reported by Daily Sports on February 27, the former After School member is currently finalizing the details for her appearance in the new Netflix original series “Scandal” (working title).
“Scandal” is a Netflix series remake of the 2003 film “Untold Scandal”. The story is based on the French novel “Les Liaisons Dangereuses” by Pierre Choderlos-de-Laclos, set in the Joseon era. It follows Lady Cho and Jo Won as they play a risky game of love and deception.
The original film was a hit, attracting over 3.5 million viewers despite its restricted rating.
Nana will star as the widow, a chaste woman who has abstained from relationships for 9 years, in the upcoming Netflix series “Scandal”. This role was originally portrayed by acclaimed actress Jeon Do Yeon in the 2003 film.
Besides her, the highly anticipated Netflix series “Scandal” stars Son Ye Jin, Ji Chang Wook, and Han Sun Hwa. Son Ye Jin will portray Mrs. Cho, a role that was originally played by Lee Mi Sook, while Ji Chang Wook will take on the character of Jo Won, previously depicted by Bae Yong Joon. Han Sun Hwa will bring to life a new character that was not included in the original narrative.
The expectations are at an all-time high with big names attached to the series. Nana, known for her appearance in “Mask Girl” has multiple exciting projects lined up. The 33-year-old actress will appear in the drama “Climax” and the movies “Andong”, and “Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint”.
On the other hand, Ji Chang Wook needs no introduction, the star of “Suspicious Partner” and “Healer”. He will be next seen in the dramas “The Manipulated”, “Mr. Right”, and the movie “Colony”.
The “Crash Landing On You” star Son Ye Jin is set to star in the drama “Variety” and the movie “There is No Choice”.
The “Scandal” remake will be helmed by director Jung Ji-woo, known for his work on “Happy End”, “Modern Boy”, “Eungyo”, and “Tune in for Love”. Production will be handled by Movie Rock, the company behind “Honey Sweet” and “Pilot”.
Production for the “Untold Scandal” remake is set to commence in late March or early April.
