NCT DREAM Dishes on ‘DREAM( )SCAPE’ Message, Involvement in Album Production, and Upcoming World Tour

NCT DREAM DREAM( )SCAPE Media Showcase

NCT DREAM has made a comeback to offer solace to young people facing difficulties and struggles with their new album.

NCT Dream conducted a press event marking the release of DREAM( )SCAPE at Walkerhill Hotel Walker Hall in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul at 2 PM on March 25.

DREAM( )SCAPE Message

Through this album, NCT Dream connects with the worries and struggles of today’s youth, offering a message of comfort and support.

Mark highlighted, “We have made a lot of music that gives dreams and healing since our debut, but this time, we made it with the intention of giving a message that can give strength to those who do not have dreams.”

Further, he added, “Dream is meant to be an escape from reality, to escape through dreams even in difficult times.”

The songs in this album portray the different feelings felt while going through the process of escaping. The story of breaking away from a tough reality and maturing is prominent.

The brackets in the album title symbolize ‘escape’. Jeno mentioned, “It’s in the shape of a door. It represents the meaning of escaping from a dream.”

Some fans might feel let down that NCT Dream didn’t come back with their signature refreshing concept. Haechan reassured fans, stating, “Fans may dislike it or be disappointed, however, I think it would be good if you think of it as a group that is not limited to any genre and can do this and that.”

Involvement in Album Production

The members actively participated in the preparation of the album this time around. They aimed to voice their opinions from the planning stage and weave genuine stories throughout the production.

Regarding the album preparation process, Mark shared, “While planning the album, we were asked if there was a story we wanted to tell. We always showed a bright side, but in reality, we also had pain and there were times when we didn’t have dreams,” and added, “So we wanted to make an album that could give youth that kind of empathy.”

Jeno hinted that the group’s dream journey will be carried on in the next album, saying, “Escape from the dream is just the beginning of a new journey. We can tell more stories in the next album or song.”

Upcoming World Tour DREAM SHOW 3

NCT Dream is set to start their activities in full swing this year with this album. They will kick off their third world tour starting with a show in Seoul in May.

The tour will be on a larger scale than before, with performances in stadiums and Japan dome tours across the globe, spanning North and South America, Europe, and Asia.
