Nell received harsh criticism for their expensive fanclub membership plans.
The band addressed the backlash surrounding the high fan club membership fee on June 23.
In a new post on Instagram, Nell’s management team announced that they have collected and forwarded fan feedback on the “Online Nell’s Room App” to the artist.
In response, a live broadcast was held on June 23, 2024, where it was revealed that “Nell’s Room” will temporarily become an exclusive service, and all paid memberships will be fully refunded at a later date.
They announced a new app for their fan club, offering exclusive perks like:
- Full video access
- Free online music reviews
- Priority merchandise access
- Private messaging with Nell members
- Early concert tickets (80% of seats)
- Meet-and-greet opportunities (3 times a year)
The membership plans were:
- Basic (38,000 KRW/month or 456,000 KRW/year)
- Premium (418,000 KRW/year, includes all benefits)
The hefty fan club membership fee drew intense criticism from fans, who deemed it excessively pricey and unjustifiably high. Considering the fans’ concerns, Nell has decided to refund the membership fees.
