Netflix has officially confirmed the production of its latest original K-drama series, Take Charge of My Heart. This romantic comedy brings together Kim Young Kwang and Chae Soo Bin in the lead roles. This marks both actors’ return to the rom-com genre after a considerable break.
The drama is based on a popular Naver web novel of the same name and will be helmed by director Park Soo Won. He is known for his sharp and witty direction in hit dramas like Work Later, Drink Now 2 and Birthcare Center. The screenplay is written by rising writer Song Yoo Chae, who will be adapting the web novel into an emotionally charged narrative.
Plot Summary
Take Charge of My Heart follows Baek Ho Rang (Kim Young Kwang), a third-generation chaebol managing a luxury resort owned by Korea’s top conglomerate. Behind his flawless image lies a secret, he lives with an artificial heart that depends on recharging to function.
Amid corporate rivalry, he meets Na Bo Bae, a drama writer with electric powers. Struck by lightning as a child, she has been unable to touch others without shocking them, until she encounters Ho Rang, who is mysteriously unaffected by her electricity. Discovering she can recharge his heart, the two form a contract relationship that soon turns into something more.
