It is established by now that Korean dating reality shows are on another level. Dating variety shows like Single’s Inferno, ExChange (Transit Love), and My Sibling’s Romance have struck a chord with audiences for relatable experiences.

Considering the popularity of these shows, Netflix is returning with another one-of-a-kind dating variety show, Better Late Than Single.

Netflix’s Better Late Than Single offers a fresh, empathetic take on romance by focusing on “forever singles” (or motae-solos in Korean) who’ve never been in a relationship before.

Unlike the high-drama Single’s Inferno or the steamy Too Hot to Handle, this series is all about awkward firsts, genuine growth, and heartwarming connections. This makes it the perfect binge for anyone who believes love isn’t just for the experienced.

Netflix’s ‘Better Late Than Single’ Release Date

The dating variety show, Better Late Than Single, will be available exclusively on Netflix starting July 8, 2025. The show will bring viewers on a nine-day dating camp where they will see a group of individuals find love.

Premise

The show follows a group of dating rookies as they navigate their first-ever romantic experiences. Over nine days, participants undergo makeovers, confidence-building workshops, and hilariously unpredictable first dates. Viewers can expect fumbled compliments, shy glances, and cringe-worthy yet endearing moments. The goal is to help these lovable late bloomers take their first steps toward love without the pressure of competition.

Celebrity Mentors

These inexperienced contestants will go on dates under the guidance of celebrity “Cupid Experts,” including actor Seo In Guk, comedian Lee Eun Ji, and dating coach Kang Hanna. The show’s mentors don’t just play matchmaker—they offer practical advice, from fashion tips to conversation starters.

Teaser Trailer

The first Better Late Than Single teaser was released by Netflix on June 10, and it appears binge-worthy. The teaser trailer shows the “Cupid Experts” losing over the hilarious mistakes of rookie participants.

On the other hand, we see some contestants finding love in the most adorable ways while others struggle with it, and questioning, “Are relationships and love always this hard?”. The show begins as a series of comedic mishaps, but it deepens as the participants start dating.

Why is it a Must-Watch?

Better Late Than Single taps into a universal truth: everyone deserves a shot at love, no matter how late they start. According to Korean media outlets, over 4000 contestants applied for this new dating show.

Watching the popular Kdrama actor Seo In Guk mentor participants adds to the appeal. In addition, one cast member already drops a bombshell in the trailer, hinting at finding his soulmate and marrying her.

Netflix is building on the success of Single’s Inferno with new shows that fit the Korean format. These shows are attracting viewers who are looking for less manufactured, unscripted romance stories.

Mark your calendar for July 8 when this binge-friendly Netflix dating reality Better Late Than Single will be available for streaming.
