NewJeans’ ‘Get Up’ EP Achieves 26 Weeks on Billboard 200, Ties BLACKPINK’s Record

NewJeans’ second EP Get Up has achieved a remarkable feat by staying on the Billboard 200 album chart for a solid 26 weeks, which is the same length of time as BLACKPINK’ record for the longest-charting album by a K-pop girl group.

NewJeans released their EP Get Up on July 21, and it’s still going strong on the Billboard 200 chart at No. 197 as of the week of Jan. 27. The girl group achieved this record just a year and a half after their debut. 

BLACKPINK also had an incredible achievement with their album, The Album,which stayed on the Billboard chart for 26 consecutive weeks. It was released on Oct. 2, 2020. 

According to NewJeans’ agency ADOR, their EP Get Up holds the record for being the longest-charting album by a fourth-generation K-pop girl group on the Billboard 200. 

Additionally, their lead track Super Shy (2023) reached No. 79 on the Billboard Global Excl. US chart, while ETA (2023) also made its mark at No. 154. 

On another note, NewJeans has been nominated for two categories at this year’s iHeartRadio Music Awards: Kpop Song of the Year and Best New Artist (K-pop).
