SEVENTEEN’s Woozi jokingly referred to himself as ‘Hooni from New WooJeans’, a playful mix of his name and NewJeans’ Hanni’s.
On July 23, the first day of the CARAT LAND fanmeeting, the Cheers to Youth singer took to Weverse to share a fun post, “It was fun, you worked hard, that was Hooni from New WooJeans.”
Not only that, he used a similar sentence by Hanni with a grammatical mistake in his post, “Preparations for tomorrow’s Carat Land done.”
On the same day, he danced to NewJeans’ How Sweet during the ‘Song That Don’t Fit SEVENTEEN members’ segment. Last year, Woozi also performed a NewJeans song, Ditto, during the CARAT LAND meeting.
On July 27, Hanni reacted to Woozi calling himself Hooni and using her sentence on Phonning, saying, “Preparation to leave done… how did it even reach sunbaenim (senior)?”
The 19-year-old songstress also shared that she saw his dance cover of How Sweet. In addition, Hanni shared, “NewJeans’ Hooni, it’s similar to my name, turns out there’s a member of NewJeans that I didn’t know of.”
This is not the first time they have interacted, previously, she shared an encounter with Woozi in Japan.
Before performing at SUMMER SONIC, NewJeans’ Hanni shared a story about meeting SEVENTEEN’s Woozi at an NHK special show.
Woozi warned Hanni about potential technical issues at SUMMER SONIC due to the heat, sharing his own past experience with delayed audio. She expressed gratitude for the tip and their performance went smoothly.
On the work front, NewJeans have taken a temporary break amid HYBE-ADOR conflict while SEVENTEEN gears up for a world tour.
