Back on April 10, NewJeans’ Hyein put a pause on group activities due to a foot injury sustained during practice.
At the time of the announcement, ADOR stated that they would share information regarding Hyein’s participation in the group’s promotional activities for their upcoming single at a later time.
On May 8, ADOR released an official statement regarding her participation in the comeback activities, “Last month, HYEIN felt pain in the top of her foot during practice. She visited the hospital,” and added, “Where she underwent a thorough examination and discovered a microfracture in her foot.”
The agency shared that Hyein is now concentrating on treatment and recovery. Besides that, doctors have urged her to reduce any movements that could strain the affected area unnecessarily.
In relation to her participation, ADOR revealed, “Consequently, HYEIN will not take part in the official promotional activities for the double single “How Sweet,” including music shows and performances, to focus on her recovery.”
The agency further shared, “For other scheduled appearances beyond music shows and performances, her participation will be adjusted in a flexible manner based on her health and medical advice.”
Lastly, NewJeans’ single, How Sweet, is set to release on May 24.
