NewJeans Requests U.S. Court to Identify Owner of Account Spreading Defamatory Remarks

NewJeans isn’t allowing haters and individuals spreading defamatory remarks to slip through the cracks so effortlessly.

On April 10, The New York Times broke the news that ADOR, the agency of NewJeans, has requested a California federal court to expose the identity of the person behind a social media account spreading defamatory comments about the members.

The federal court stated that the account holder slandered NewJeans in numerous videos. Reports indicate that these videos have garnered over 13 million views.

In relation to this, ADOR stated, “The account holder also participated in swearing and other mocking actions toward NewJeans. NewJeans reputation is being seriously damaged. We are regularly taking legal action against violations of artist rights.”

Before NewJeans, the group IVE also took a stand against a Cyber wrecker. IVE Jang Wonyoung’s agency, Starship Entertainment, shared details with Google, the operator of YouTube, when the YouTube channel ‘Taldeok Camp’ persisted in spreading baseless rumors about Jang Wonyoung last year. 

Following a request and court order from the U.S., the channel operator’s identity was revealed, leading to an ongoing legal case.
