The trailer for “Newtopia” has finally dropped, and it’s packed with action, suspense, comedy, and a horde of terrifying zombies.
Starring Park Jeong Min and Jisoo, this apocalyptic thriller promises a thrilling ride as the two leads, who play former lovers, fight for survival.
On January 7, Coupang Play unveiled a trailer and special poster for its first-ever zombie drama “Newtopia”. The show is dubbed as a “Zomcom,” a blend of zombie apocalypse and comedy.
The trailer shows the day soldier Jae Yoon (Park Jeong Min) and Young Joo (Jisoo) decide to go their separate ways. Coincidentally, a zombie virus breaks out globally on the same day. Young Joo’s car is invaded by a zombie, while Jae Yoon’s unit is overrun by a massive zombie horde. Amidst the chaos, Jae Yoon and Young Joo’s primary goal is to reunite.
The trailer features them fighting zombies with flames and golf clubs. An exciting action sequence takes place in a Gangnam tower.
“Newtopia” revolves around soldier Jae Yoon (Park Jeong Min) and Young Joo (Jisoo) reuniting in a zombie-infested Seoul. Despite belonging to the zombie genre, the series has a bright and energetic tone.
“Newtopia” is set to premiere on Coupang Play, starting February 7 and running until March 21, with new episodes airing every week at 8 PM.
