When the music stops, the show must go on – and NMIXX took this phrase to heart in a heart-stopping performance at a recent university festival!

Despite their backtrack suddenly stopping, the K-pop group continued to dance and perform with professionalism and poise.

On May 27, NMIXX performed in front of an energetic crowd at Shinhan University.

During their performance of the hit song DICE, the backtrack abruptly stopped working in the middle of the performance.

Consequently, they had to sing acapella but members showed no sign of stress and continued to perform as if nothing as happened.

For those unversed, A backtrack is a pre-recorded audio track that plays during a live performance, providing instrumental music, harmonies, and sometimes backing vocals to accompany the performers.

Often, backtrack stopping mid-way can be challenging and disruptive to the performance.

Recently, there has been a lot of controversy surrounding K-pop acts’ live singing skills, the use of louder backtracks, and AR.

However, NMIXX is receiving praise from K-pop fans for continuing to perform professionally despite the technical issues. They are also being admired for their vocals, saying they sound like a studio recording – clear, precise, and impressive.

During another recent performance at an event, the group decided to sing a song that was not on the setlist, that too without a backtrack.

This just shows that the group does not rely on backtracks and is all ready to counter any technical issues with their live vocals.
