As per an exclusive report by Star News on March 21, Park Bo Gum is cast as the lead role for a historical movie “The Sword: A Legend of The Red Wolf” (literal title). Hours later, THEBLACKLABEL confirmed to Edaily, “Park Bo Gum has been offered the lead role in director Kim Han Min’s film ‘The Sword: A Legend of The Red Wolf’ and is currently reviewing it.”
“The Sword: A Legend of The Red Wolf” is a movie about a Goguryeo warrior. The story takes place 2 years after the fall of Pyongyang Castle and features a battle between five tribes fighting for the legendary Sword of Godumakhan. The movie will be distributed by Plus M and filming will start in August.
Director Kim is known for directing many historical movies such as “The Admiral: Roaring Currents”, “War of Arrows”, “Noryang: Deadly Sea”, and more. Interestingly, most of his directing credits include historical blockbusters.
The release date, cast lineup, and plot details of ‘The Sword: A Legend of The Red Wolf’ are yet to be officially announced.
Following his appearance in “Wonderland” (2024), Park Bo Gum is set to return to the big screen with a starring role in his next major project. Fans are looking forward to seeing whether he will join the “Kim Han Min Universe.” Actors such as Park Hae Il, Choi Min Sik, and Kim Yun Seok have previously worked with the talented director.
The 31-year-old Kdrama actor is reuniting with director Kim Han Min after having played a supporting role in the 2014 film “The Admiral: Roaring Currents”. Director Kim fondly recalled Park Bo Gum’s early days as an actor on the 2022 tvN show “You Quiz on the Block”. He mentioned that after filming “The Admiral: Roaring Currents”, Park mastered the basics of acting and even calls him every holiday to express his gratitude.
