After his successful comeback in “When Life Gives You Tangerines”, Park Bo Gum is now in talks for another drama. This time, he might work with the famous writer behind “Boys Over Flowers”.
His swoon-worthy portrayal of Yang Gwan Sik in “When Life Gives You Tangerines” had women everywhere searching for their own real-life Gwan Sik. Despite his authentic portrayal of the character, fans were upset that he did not receive ‘Best Actor’ award at the 61st Baeksang Arts Awards. Park took on a radically different role in the action comedy “Good Boy”, a complete departure from his previous character to avoid being typecast in similar roles. He is playing a hot-tempered, athlete-turned-policeman in “Good Boy”, which also stars Kim So Hyun.
On Friday (May 9), Korean media outlet SPOTV News reported that Park Bo Gum is being approached for the new drama “Night Traveler” (literal title), a work by writer Yoon Ji Ryun. Yoon rose to fame for writing one of the most iconic K-dramas of all time, “Boys Over Flowers”. She also penned the script for “Move to Heaven,” “Angel Eyes,” and “Operation Promotion”.
Hours later, his agency, THEBLACKLABEL, confirmed to Newsen regarding his appearance in the new drama “Night Traveler,” stating, “We have received an offer and are currently reviewing it.”
As of the time of writing, information about the genre, broadcast plans, and other cast members has not been revealed.
In March, it was reported that Park Bo Gum is in talks to lead the historical film “The Sword: A Legend of The Red Wolf” (literal title) by director Kim Han Min. It appears the 31-year-old actor will continue to expand his acting range by taking on diverse roles in the future.
He received a lot of love and praise for his past roles in Kdramas like “Love in the Moonlight,” “Reply 1988,” “Encounter,” “Record of Youth,” and more.
Meanwhile, fans can catch Park Bo Gum fighting the bad guys in the new JTBC drama “Good Boy” on May 31, available for global streaming on Prime Video.
