Park Gyu Young

Park Gyu Young is the latest victim of deepfake videos and photos. Her agency is taking action and promises to fight against those who made and shared the fake content.

On September 4, Saram Entertainment shared an official statement, stating, “Recently, there have been instances of illegal creation and distribution of deepfake (Al-generated synthetic videos) content targeting actress Park Gyu Young.

We will be constantly monitoring and collecting related materials, and we ask that if you encounter such instances, please report them to the following email address: support@esaram.co.kr.

We intend to take strong action against any illegal activities involving our artists. We sincerely appreciate the proactive reports and attention from our fans.”

Currently, South Korea is grappling with a surge in digital sex crimes, with hundreds of women and girls being victimized by deepfake sexual images circulating online. The deepfake content is being shared in Telegram groups with thousands of followers.

As a result, many entertainment agencies have been moving forward, promising legal action against creators of such malicious content. YG, JYP Entertainment, and many other agencies have warned people who are spreading and making deepfake images and videos.

On the work front, Park Gyu Young is set to appear in the second season of Squid Game, scheduled to premiere in December.
