Park Min Young is bidding farewell to her management agency of 3 years, Hook Entertainment.
The “Marry My Husband” actress signed with the agency after parting ways with Namoo Actors in 2021. As reported by TenAsia on January 1, Park Min Young’s exclusive contract expired in December 2024, and both parties discussed contract renewal. As the negotiations fell through, both parties decided to go their separate ways amicably.
In response to the TenAsia report, Hook Entertainment confirmed to Newsen, “The contract termination is true. We will only provide support until the completion of her current project that is being filmed.”
Park Min Young is currently filming a new comedy-drama called “The Confidence Man KR“. It is about a group of scammers who trick greedy people and companies into giving them money.
The Korean adaptation of “The Confidence Man JP” will be helmed by director Nam Ki Hoon (“Big Bet”, “Destined With You”) and penned by writer Hong Seung Hyun (“Hot Blood”, “Cheo Yong”).
On another note, Hook Entertainment’s ownership has changed hands. The company was bought by Chorokbaem Media in 2021, but now Chorokbaem Media is part of Q Capital Partners, a Korean investment firm. Q Capital Partners invests in movies and other creative projects, with notable films like “Parasite”, “Ashfall”, and “Exit” in their portfolio.
The agency is home to Lee Sun Hee, Choi Gyu Ri, and Seo Bum June.
