Park Shin Hye is expecting her second child with husband Choi Tae Joon, her agency Salt Entertainment confirmed on April 14, 2026. The baby is due this fall, coming about four years after the couple welcomed their first son in 2022.
The 36-year-old actress plans to adjust her schedule and focus on prenatal care. At the same time, she will carefully review future projects after childbirth.
The two actors started as friends at Chung-Ang University, where both studied Theater and Film. Their relationship turned romantic in late 2017, and they married in a private ceremony at Oryun Community Church in Seoul on January 22, 2022.
Park Shin Hye announced her first pregnancy alongside the wedding news that same year. On May 31, 2022, she gave birth to a healthy baby boy. She and Choi named their son Choi Joo Won.
Even after becoming a mother, Park appeared in several hit projects. She recently headlined tvN’s Undercover Miss Hong, a retro office comedy where she plays an elite financial regulator who goes undercover as a 20-year-old entry-level hire at a securities firm. The drama wrapped successfully and achieved a peak nationwide rating of 13.1%.
Before that, she took on a completely different energy with The Judge from Hell, a fantasy romance that earned her the Directors’ Award at the 2024 SBS Drama Awards.
In January, Park Shin Hye also made a guest appearance on the SBS variety show My Grumpy Manager, hosted by Lee Seo Jin and Kim Kwang Kyu. During filming, she briefly felt unwell, and the two senior stars stepped in to care for her.
Park Shin Hye first debuted in 2003 and gained fame through dramas like Stairway to Heaven. Then, she went on to star in popular series such as The Heirs, Pinocchio, Doctor Slump, and Memories of the Alhambra. Alongside television, she has also made a mark in films including Miracle in Cell No. 7, #Alive, and Call.
For now, Park Shin Hye is stepping back to focus on her health and family. Fans can likely expect her to return to the screen once she is ready.
