PLAVE is making a record-breaking splash with their latest album.
The virtual idol group released their 3rd mini-album “Caligo Pt.1” on all music platforms on February 3.
PLAVE’s title track “Dash” debuted at number one on Melon’s Top 100 chart, dominating Korea’s largest music streaming platform on its release day. As of 9 AM on February 4, “Dash” held steady at fourth place, trailing behind the hits from IVE, G-Dragon, and aespa.
In addition, “Caligo Pt.1” hit 1 million Melon album streams in just 2 hours and 20 minutes, the second-fastest record in Melon history.
SEVENTEEN’s mini-album “FML” currently holds the record for the fastest 1 million streams, achieving the feat in 2 hours and 10 minutes.
PLAVE’s “Caligo Pt.1” comes close, ranking second all-time with a time of 2 hours and 20 minutes – just a 10-minute difference.
Immediately after its release, all five songs from the album including “Dash”, “RIZZ”, “12:32”, “Chroma Drift”, and “Island” charted in the top 10 of Melon TOP 100.
As for album sales, PLAVE achieved their second-highest first-day sales by selling 203,307 copies of “Caligo Pt.1”, only surpassed by “ASTERUM 134-1” (221,151). The album also debuted at No. 16 on the Worldwide iTunes album chart.
PLAVE’s latest album marks a new chapter in the group’s discography. Following the “ASTERUM trilogy”, this release highlights the group’s continued growth.
The album features five tracks that blend genres like rock, hip-hop, R&B, ballad, and city pop. The members were actively involved in the creation process and contributed to composition, lyrics, choreography, and production.
With the release of their new album, expectations are high for PLAVE to break new ground and set fresh records.
