PLEDIS Entertainment Officially Confirms SEVENTEEN S.Coups’ Military Service Exemption

S.coups military service

On March 1, multiple Korean media outlets reported that SEVENTEEN’s leader S.Coups received military service exemption following a recent physical examination. The K-pop star was expected to enlist this year.

On March 1st, PLEDIS Entertainment announced that S.Coups was classified as grade 5 (wartime service) in the military service examination conducted by the Military Manpower Administration.

As per the Korean Conscription system, men in Grade 5 are specifically called upon during times of war. During peacetime, anyone in grade 5 will be exempted from completing military service.

Last year in August, S.Coups suffered an injury, and the examination revealed a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee joint.

Since then, he has been focusing on recovery and underwent surgeries for anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction and anterolateral ligament reconstruction. Currently, he is undergoing a six-month rehabilitation period after the surgery.

Lastly, S.Coups will be making a comeback this month by joining the ‘SEVENTEEN TOUR FOLLOW AGAIN TO INCHEON’ at the Incheon Asiad Main Stadium on March 30 and 3. Also, SEVENTEEN has plans for a comeback in the first half of this year, but the exact schedule will be announced later.
