Protest trucks have begun rolling out through the streets of Seoul, calling for SUGA’s withdrawal from BTS.
A group of fans has organized a truck protest in Seoul, calling for SUGA’s removal from BTS. The truck features messages criticizing his actions, including:
- “Who told fans to hold their heads high with pride brought shame with drunk driving”
- “It’s D-Day for SUGA today”
- “Throwing away 11-year BTS career”
- “Who can drink and drive as much as you do”
- #SupportSugaWithdrawal”
The protest truck will pass by key locations, including Hybe’s headquarters and the site where SUGA fell after drunk driving.
Protesters used SUGA’s own song lyrics against him. They modified the lyrics to his songs “The Last” and “D-Day” to criticize him.
This shows that even fans who loved his solo music, not just BTS, are now against him and want him to leave the group.
SUGA was booked for drunk driving in Seoul on August 6. At the time, he had a blood alcohol level of 0.227%, which is nearly three times the legal limit of 0.08%. This is the highest blood alcohol level ever recorded for a K-pop idol caught driving drunk.
The police are arranging a time to question SUGA formally about the drunk driving incident, and are coordinating with his representatives and the military authorities to make it happen.
