Apple TV+ is gearing up to launch KPOPPED, a unique global music showdown. The show pairs popular K-pop idols such as ITZY, ATEEZ, and STAYC with internationally renowned artists like the Spice Girls, J Balvin, and TLC.
Hosted by PSY and Megan Thee Stallion, the show blends bold performances, surprise collabs, and performances judged by a live audience in Seoul.
KPOPPED was announced by Apple TV+ in February, and after months, the release date is finally out. The show’s premiere is just around the corner, and fans won’t have to wait long. The show is Apple TV+’s debut music competition series following earlier ventures like the 2024 docuseries K-Pop Idols.
KPOPPED Release Date
KPOPPED is set to debut on August 29, 2025, exclusively on Apple TV+, and will feature a total of eight episodes.
Filmed in Seoul with a live audience, the series will release one episode every Friday and features global music collaborations between Western artists and K-pop idols.
Produced by CJ ENM (Parasite, I Can See Your Voice) and Eureka Productions (The Mole, The Floor), the show has completed filming and is scheduled as part of Apple TV+’s late summer lineup.
Concept and Format
Each episode of KPOPPED features a unique music battle, with Western music icons reinterpreting one of their biggest hits. These legendary stars then collaborate with K-pop idols to bring a “K-popped” version of the song to life. A live audience in Seoul votes on which team delivers the best performance of the reimagined song.
Judges and Production Team
The show’s judges and production team bring a wealth of experience to the table. Executive producers Lionel Richie, Megan Thee Stallion, and PSY, the iconic South Korean artist who made K-pop a global phenomenon with “Gangnam Style,” are at the helm.
The show is also backed by a talented production team, including Moira Ross, Miky Lee, Greg Foster, and Harry H.K. Shin. The series is produced by CJ ENM, a company renowned for its expertise in creating quality Korean content.
Eureka Productions (a Fremantle company), led by Chris Culvenor, Paul Franklin, Wes Dening, and David Tibballs, is behind the unscripted format.
