Rain aka Jung Jihoon was recently accused of real estate fraud. As per the reports, the buyer (hereafter referred to as A) made a deal to sell his building in Namyang New Town, Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province, and Rain’s home in Itaewon, Seoul, to each other.
According to A, when he expressed his desire to visit Rain’s mansion, Rain declined, citing privacy concerns, and only shared photos. A was drawn to the house shown in the photo and proceeded with the contract, trusting Rain’s celebrity status and the reputation of the real estate company.
A alleges that the actual building, as confirmed after the contract, was completely different from the photo presented by the real estate agency. As a result, he filed a complaint against Rain at the Yongsan Police Station in Seoul, accusing her of fraud under the Aggravated Punishment Act for Specific Economic Crimes.
On the other hand, Rain’s agency, Lane Company, has strongly refuted the claims made by A. The agency stated that Rain was accused of this over-the-top slander simply because he is a celebrity.
The company further stated it is unreasonable to believe that a multi-billion won house was purchased solely based on photos. They argue that the buyer’s claim is incorrect, even when considering the official documents and property records involved in the real estate transaction.
Further, Lane Company ensured that we have evidence proving the buyer’s claims are false. If they file a complaint with false facts, we will present it as evidence. Their actions seem malicious and aimed at causing damage.
