Irene from Red Velvet is making her solo debut this month!
The 33-year-old singer has announced her solo debut album “Like A Flower,” and the first teaser looks promising.
On November 4 at midnight, SM Entertainment dropped the 1st animated teaser for her album “Like a Flower” on all social media platforms.
Previously, Irene’s first mini-album in 4Q of 2024 was teased in SM Entertainment’s comeback lineup for 2nd half of 2024. In February, she renewed her contract with her longtime agency, SM Entertainment.
She is the fourth member to make her solo debut after Wendy, Seulgi, and Joy. Yeri has yet to make her debut as a soloist.
Wendy debuted with “Like Water” in April 2021, Joy debuted as a soloist with “Hello” in May 2021, and Seulgi released “28 Reasons” in October 2022.
Despite debuting with Red Velvet in August 2024, it is only now that she is debuting as a soloist after 10 years.
While she remained occupied with group activities all these years, Irene forayed into acting in 2016 in the web drama “The Female Employee of a Game Company.” She also made a cameo in the hit drama “Descendants of the Sun” in the same year.
Fans are excited to see what she has in store for them and if her long-awaited solo debut album will meet expectations.
Meanwhile, Irene will release “Like A Flower” on November 26 at 6 PM KST.
