It looks like there’s been another delay in the release of the Kdrama Resident Playbook. Fans of this highly anticipated series will be disappointed to hear that the release date has been postponed for the second time.
As reported by Korean media outlets on May 16, tvN’s highly anticipated drama Resident Playbook starring Go Yoon Jung, has faced another delay.
Originally slated to follow Queen of Tears in the first half of the year, the drama’s release has been pushed back once again, leaving fans eagerly awaiting a new premiere date.
The medical residents’ strike, sparked by the government’s medical school quota increase, has put the broadcast schedule in limbo. This has raised concerns about potential delays and losing momentum, leaving the show’s future up in the air.
As a result, there are fears that the show may face an indefinite delay and lose its momentum. Notably, Resident Playbook had already released its first teaser video in March, hinting at a May premiere and billing itself as the follow-up to Queen of Tears.
Resident Playbook is a spin-off of Hospital Playlist, following the success of seasons 1 and 2 (2020-2021). This spin-off retains the same universe and tone while introducing a fresh cast of characters, with Go Yoon Jung starring as a first-year resident in the Obstetrics and Gynecology department at Jongno Yulje Hospital.
The show promises to deliver a compelling and authentic portrayal of hospital life, exploring the triumphs and tribulations of medical professionals in a new and exciting way.
