RM Apologizes for Comments About BTS Disbandment: “I was frustrated”

RM of BTS in a still from his recent Weverse live

On December 8, BTS leader RM issued a heartfelt apology on Weverse following his candid livestream on December 6. In the broadcast, he openly discussed the pressures facing BTS and revealed that the group had considered disbanding.

In his apology, RM wrote, “Sorry for making many people tired with the live two days ago,” and added, “I got a lot of calls. I don’t regret doing it, but I was frustrated, so I’m sorry.

He asked fans to “Please look at me kindly, even just a little” and promised to focus on music, practice, and his health.

To lighten the mood, he shared lighter news about preparing for a driving test, moving into his newly renovated home, and everyday activities.

He shared a lighter update with ARMYs like watching “a pomegranate-colored movie.” RM further shared, “The interior of the house is finished, so I am going back to the house after half a year.” He concluded by saying, “It’s so cold, so dress warmly and don’t catch a cold.”

The livestream that prompted the apology was emotionally raw. RM shared his struggles since military discharge, including sleepless nights, stress, and using sleeping pills due to pressure. He revealed that the idea of disbanding or suspending group activities had crossed their minds “tens of thousands of times.”

He clarified that this stemmed from the pressure surrounding their highly anticipated 2026 comeback, not from a lack of love for the group. While he did not directly name anyone, fans interpreted parts of his words as subtle references to recent dating rumors involving Jungkook and aespa’s Winter

RM emphasized that he could no longer speak for all members as he did before, saying that each member is now an independent adult.

Following the livestream and apology, RM posted a picture on social media of a late-night ramen meal with Jungkook, and tagged him in the post. Jungkook shared the same photo, showing they had eaten together.

Though it was a simple, everyday moment, fans paid attention because of the timing—right after RM’s livestream and amid dating rumors involving Jungkook and Winter.

The rumors surrounding Jungkook and Winter began on December 5, 2025. Fans pointed to matching puppy face tattoos, nail designs, and attendance at each other’s events as evidence. Neither HYBE nor SM Entertainment has confirmed the relationship. However, SM has announced legal action against malicious comments and rumors targeting Winter after she received massive backlash.

After completing military service, BTS is preparing for a full group comeback in March 2026 followed by a 65-date world tour
