Roh Jeong Eui, popular Japanese actor Sho Kasamatsu, and ITZY’s Ryujin have confirmed their appearances in the thriller film “Shave.” The project is a major return for director Kim Jung Hoon (Desperate Mr. X, Petty Romance) and an important career moment for all three stars.
As reported on January 21, Shave is the first new film in 12 years from director Kim Jung Hoon, who previously received critical praise for his 2014 film “Stray Dogs.” The movie is being produced by Star Platinum, the production company behind the well-reviewed Netflix film “Good News,” which was released in October last year. Shave has recently entered full-scale filming.
Although detailed plot information has not yet been revealed, Shave is confirmed to be a thriller.
For Roh Jeong Eui, Shave marks her first film appearance in two years, following her 2024 Netflix movie “Badland Hunters.” Roh began her career as a child actress in 2011 and later expanded her filmography. She previously appeared in “Hierarchy,” “The Witch,” and “Crushology 101” (2025).
Roh Jeong Eui is also set to greet viewers very soon through tvN’s new Wednesday–Thursday romance drama “Our Universe,” premiering on February 4, 2026. In the series, she plays an optimistic job seeker who unexpectedly begins a chaotic cohabitation with a photographer’s assistant, played by Bae In Hyuk. After an unfortunate accident, they become guardians to a 20-month-old nephew.
Japanese actor Sho Kasamatsu previously appeared as the leader of the Communist League’s Red Army Faction in the Netflix film “Good News,” produced by the same company as Shave. More recently, he received praise for her performance as the main villain in episodes 1 and 2 of SBS’s “Taxi Driver 3.”
ITZY’s Ryujin also joins the main cast and this will be her second lead role in a movie. She has already completed filming for her first leading movie role in the indie fantasy coming-of-age film “Night on Earth.” Set in a society disrupted by mutant jellyfish, the film follows Ryujin as a staff member working at an illegal clinic.
Alongside her acting activities, Ryujin remains active with ITZY, currently promoting the group’s latest mini-album “Tunnel Vision” and preparing for their third world tour, which begins in February.
