Seo Eun Soo will reportedly star opposite Kim Woo Bin in the upcoming tvN drama Gift (working title).
As reported by YTN Star on January 30, the 31-year-old actress has been cast as the female lead in Gift, a sports drama based on a popular webtoon of the same name. The series tells the story of Jung Min Yong, a former professional baseball pitching coach who gains a special ability after a tragic accident. He later became the head coach of Deokcheon High School, an amateur baseball team stuck at the bottom of the rankings. Kim Woo Bin is set to play Jung Min Yong.
Seo Eun Soo will take on the role of Yoon Seo Jin, a physical education teacher who also leads the school’s women’s baseball team. This project marks the first time Seo Eun Soo and Kim Woo Bin will work together. The drama is set to reignite interest in baseball-themed series.
Gift is scheduled to begin filming in the first half of 2026, with a broadcast currently aimed for 2027. The drama will be directed by Kim Kyu Tae, who previously helmed the iconic Kdrama Our Blues. This will be Kim Woo Bin’s reunion with the director, with whom he worked on Our Blues in 2022.
The project comes at an important moment in Seo Eun Soo’s career. She recently appeared in the Disney+ original series Made in Korea, released in December 2025, where she played Oh Ye Jin, an investigator working under a prosecutor portrayed by Jung Woo Sung. The role moved away from her softer past roles and showed a more intense and powerful side. Production for Made in Korea Season 2 has already been confirmed, with a release planned for the second half of 2026.
Kim Woo Bin has also remained active in recent years. He starred in Netflix’s Genie, Make a Wish in 2025, and previously led the series Black Knight. His recent film work includes Officer Black Belt and Alienoid: Return to the Future. He married actress Shin Min Ah in November last year and continues to carefully select projects following his return to acting.
