WakeOne has welcomed Seok Matthew and Park Gunwook, members of the K-pop group ZEROBASEONE. The duo signed exclusive contracts with the two artists and will continue activities with ZEROBASEONE in the future.

The transfer followed careful discussions with their former agencies. WAKEONE emphasized, “Based on the sincerity and growth potential they have demonstrated throughout their activities as ZEROBASEONE, as well as the strong trust and shared understanding we have built over time, our company will provide full support to ensure that Seok Matthew and Park Gunwook can fully showcase their talents in a stable environment.”

The main issue revolves around the division of members among different agencies as the group’s contract period nears its end. Naturally, this has raised questions about the future of ZEROBASEONE and what each member will do next.

Currently, WAKEONE manages five of the nine members: Sung Hanbin, Kim Jiwoong, Kim Taerae, Seok Matthew, and Park Gunwook. With control of more than half of the group, WAKEONE will oversee any future activities for ZEROBASEONE, should the group continue.

Since debuting in 2023 through Boys Planet, Matthew and Gunwook have stood out as fifth-generation K-pop artists. Matthew (formerly under MHM) is known for his bright vocals and stage charisma, while Gunwook (previously under Jellyfish) is loved for his powerful rap and performance skills.

This change comes as part of a larger transformation for ZEROBASEONE. While Matthew and Gunwook move to WAKEONE, four other members—Zhang Hao, Ricky, Kim Gyuvin, and Han Yujin—remain under YH Entertainment.

The company has said it is preparing the “next steps” for these members. Reports suggest that after March, ZEROBASEONE could continue as a five-member group under WAKEONE. This follows the end of a short contract extension that keeps all nine members active until the end of March 2026.

During this time, the group is promoting their special album RE-FLOW and holding encore concerts for their world tour.

ZEROBASEONE quickly made its mark in K-pop. They achieved a “Rookie Grand Slam,” multiple million-selling albums, and international chart success. Fans, called ZEROSEs, can look forward to the group’s final promotions as a nine-member team before WAKEONE confirms the official lineup.
