It’s been over a year since GWSN’s disbandment left fans heartbroken, but now, Seoryoung, the group’s former main vocalist, has broken her silence with a long-awaited update.
On May 23, the 24-year-old vocalist communicated with fans after nearly two years through GWSN’s official fancafe.
She shared, “It’s been a while since I came here and realized 15 people visited the fancafe today.”
Seoryoung further added, “Even after everything comes to an end, I guess the love and heart never stops.”
She concluded with a heartfelt ‘Thank You’ to fans for showing support even after the group’s disbandment.
Since GWSN fancafe was updated after 2 years, it left many fans emotional, and they want the group to resume activities.
Back in 2018, Seoryeong made her debut as part of GWSN, joining Seokyeong, Miya, Lena, Anne, Minju, and Soso.
After debuting, GWSN switched to a new agency, The Wave Music, in 2020 due to management issues with their previous agency, Kiwi Media Group.
However, they took an extended break after releasing their album THE OTHER SIDE OF THE MOON in May 2021, leading to concerns and criticism about the agency’s handling of the group.
Later, it was revealed that the agency’s financial mismanagement led to the members being forcibly removed from their living quarters in February 2022 due to unpaid rent.
Furthermore, in July 2022, the practice room was abruptly cleared out, and all staff responsible for overseeing GWSN’s activities departed the company, leaving the group in a state of limbo.
Moreover, it came as a surprise when it was uncovered that the company failed to handle the visa procedures for the foreign members, leading to Japanese member Miya and Taiwanese member Soso receiving fines.
Eventually, in January of the previous year, GWSN members took legal action against their agency, The Wave Music, to validate the absence of their exclusive contract, and won, ultimately resulting in their disbandment.
